Secure Note template
Last updated: 28 Jun 2026
Core builtin fallback for unstructured secrets.
Who this is for
Anyone storing freeform text—recovery codes pasted as a block, instructions, license keys, or notes that do not fit Credential or optional packs.
What you need
| Tier | Free |
| Vault state | Unlocked |
| Network | Offline after the first successful app load |
| Feature toggle | None (core builtin—always on) |
Steps
Create a secure note
- Unlock your vault and open
https://se.nt2.me/assets. - Select Add asset and choose Secure Note (always available alongside Credential).
- Enter a title and type your content in the body field.
- Optional: add tags for cross-list filtering—see Tags and filters.
- Save. The body encrypts with the same AES-GCM item encryption as other templates.
Copy note text
- Open the note from the asset list.
- Use Copy on the body (or select text in the detail view if copy buttons are field-scoped).
- Paste where needed within 30 seconds—clipboard auto-clears after that.
Edit or organize
- Select Edit to change title or body.
- Pin frequently opened notes from the detail panel—see Pinned favorites and recents.
- Delete sends the note to Trash until restored or purged.
When to use another template
- If the note is mainly a username + password, switch to Credential for copy buttons per field.
- If the note is a mnemonic or private key, use Crypto Wallet after enabling the pack.
Tips and common mistakes
- Not searchable by body—list search matches titles only; use descriptive titles or tags for long notes.
- Core builtin—no Settings toggle required; Secure Note is always in the Add asset picker.
- Attachments—for scans or PDFs alongside text, add Encrypted attachments or use Document.
- Clipboard hygiene—large pastes still auto-clear in 30 seconds; minimize time secrets sit on the clipboard.
