What this template is
The API Service template stores aPI keys, tokens, and webhook endpoints for machine-to-machine credentials. Enable it under Settings → Category templates → Infrastructure & IT.
When to use it (and when not to)

- REST or GraphQL API keys for staging and production
- Webhook signing secrets separate from human login passwords
- One item per vendor or microservice endpoint
Use something else instead
Everyday workflows
- Enable API Service under Enable category template packs → Infrastructure & IT.
- Create one item per environment (prod/staging) with environment and Vault tags.
- Copy API key with 30-second clipboard auto-clear when rotating credentials.

Steps
- Unlock your vault and open Settings → General → Category templates.
- Under Infrastructure & IT, toggle API Service On.
- Open Assets and Add asset → API Service.
- Fill required fields and Save.
Tips and common mistakes
- Enable pack first—API Service is not a core builtin.
- Do not paste secrets into Secure Note—you lose masking, validation, and share hard-blocks.
- Clipboard auto-clear applies to copied secrets—paste within 30 seconds.
