Who this is for

Recipients opening QR codes, pasted links, share files, or audio handoffs—and anyone returning to bookmarkable Receive tabs.

Tabs are bookmarkable path segments—browser Back/Forward switches tabs correctly.

Steps

QR tab (default)

  1. Open Receive from the app bar.
  2. Allow camera access if prompted; point at the sender's QR.
  3. NT² classifies the payload—contact invite, inbox wire, or share open—and routes after unlock if needed.

Link tab

  1. Go to https://se.nt2.me/receive/link.
  2. Paste the full URL (placeholder shows https://se.nt2.me/?m=…) or use Paste from clipboard.
  3. Tap Open. Valid wires add to Inbox or auto-apply contact profile updates.

File tab

  1. Go to https://se.nt2.me/receive/file.
  2. Select a file—supported NT² artifacts include .nt2share, .nt2backup, .nt2recovery, .nt2legacy.
  3. .nt2share → decrypt with share passphrase → Inbox or import flow.
  4. .nt2backup / .nt2recovery → routed to backup or recovery import (not Inbox).
  5. Send to a vault on this device (when enabled)—deliver arbitrary files to another local vault's Inbox.

Sound tab (optional)

  1. Go to https://se.nt2.me/receive/sound when Sound handoff is enabled.
  2. Tap Start listening; hold devices within ~30 cm in a quiet place.
  3. On success, the message follows the same routing as QR/link. On failure, try QR or Link tabs.

After import

Open Inbox to Accept or Decline asset shares. Enter the sender's share passphrase when prompted—not your master password.

Tips and common mistakes

  • ?m= links belong at the vault root—not on nt2.me marketing pages. Story and integrator notes: Sent to me.
  • Receive ≠ Inbox—Receive is the front door; Inbox is where pending items wait for your decision.
  • Invalid tab paths (e.g. /receive/nfc) redirect silently to /receive.
  • PWA file handlers open .nt2share directly at /receive/file.
  • Share passphrase missing or wrong → decrypt fails; contact the sender.
