Sharing outbox

Last updated: 28 Jun 2026

Optional—Settings → Sharing → Sent shares.

Who this is for

Senders who use hosted encrypted links or vault-to-vault relay often and want a local list of outbound shares—with revoke when a link should die early.

What you need

TierFree when feature is enabled
Vault stateUnlocked
NetworkRevoke and relay status need network; list metadata is local
Feature toggleSent shares (sharingOutbox)—enable in Settings → Features

Steps

Enable Sent shares

  1. Open Settings → Features.
  2. Turn on Sent shares (description: Track outbound shares and revoke when needed).
  3. A Sharing → Sent shares section appears under Settings.

Open the outbox

Go to Settings → Sharing → Sent shares (path segment sharingOutbox under the Sharing category).

Alternatively, from an asset that was shared, View in sent shares shortcuts may appear when outbox is enabled.

What appears in the list

Entry typeTypical metadata (never plaintext fields)
Hosted linkCreated time, expiry, burn-after-read flag, revoke control
Vault-to-vault relayRecipient DID hint, delivery state
Linked TOTP glance (when applicable)Outbound TOTP share references

The outbox stores metadata only—same local-first privacy model as the activity log.

  1. Find the link row in Sent shares.
  2. Tap Revoke—relay copies become unreadable; recipients see revoked on the public open page.
  3. Revoke does not delete assets a recipient already accepted into their vault.

When you can skip this feature

  • You only use .nt2share files or inline ?m= links with no relay—there is nothing central to revoke after handoff.
  • You prefer minimal Settings surface—sharing still works without the outbox.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Optional, not required—core sharing modes work with the toggle off.
  • Revoke is for relay/hosted links, not for files or passphrases you already sent out-of-band.
  • Share passphrase ≠ master password—revoking a link does not rotate your vault master password.
  • Pair with Encrypted share links for contractor workflows with short TTL.
  • Dashboard may show a glance card when outbox is enabled—same data as Settings.
