Use cases

Short examples for storing on your device and sharing with another person—without email attachments or chat screenshots.

NT² helps you store structured secrets locally and share them when someone else needs a copy. Below: four store patterns, four share scenarios, and what is available today.

Store on your device (available now)

No account required. Works offline after the first app load.

CategoryExampleWhat NT² gives you
CryptoRecord a hardware-wallet mnemonicMasked fields, lock on idle, .nt2vault backup—not a photo in your camera roll
BankMonthly rent IBAN to a Berlin landlordOne Bank item; copy IBAN; clipboard clears in 30 seconds
DocumentPassport renewal abroadMetadata + encrypted front/back scans in one item; open offline at the embassy
CredentialStripe / GitHub API keys after a leakLabeled items, password generator, copy once and lock

Share with another person

Sharing in the app is still being built (Inbox, trusted contacts, send flows). Local storage and .nt2vault backup work today. Until sharing ships, do not paste secrets in Slack or messaging apps—see Security guidelines.

API keys to a contractor

Yuki keeps production API keys in Credential items—not in Slack. Coming soon: send one item via encrypted link (separate share passphrase + expiry) or vault-to-vault (contractor accepts in Inbox). Share passphrase is never your master password.

ID front and back to a landlord

Ana stores national-ID scans as encrypted Document attachments. Coming soon: hand off a .nt2share file or encrypted link instead of LINE photos; optional safe presentation to show only issuer and partial number in person.

Bank details to family

Amara shares one Bank item with her brother’s vault—routing and account only, not her whole vault. Coming soon: vault-to-vault send; he accepts or declines in Inbox.

Proof in person, nothing extra exposed

Luis needs employer name and last-four digits for a mortgage meeting—not a full PDF statement. Coming soon: safe presentation with masked fields on his phone; nothing uploaded.

Available now for handoff: export a full vault with .nt2vault (trusted migration only—not for casual API-key paste).
